The news of the cancellation of Saturdays much anticipated Suono/Those That Know party at The Tyne has put a brief dampener on the coming weekend, (we must point out that this is in no way due to the fault of the promoters involved but down to Newcastle Council and some complaints about noise levels at recent gigs there), however all is not lost! The guys have moved swiftly to secure a last minute change of venue for the party, moving proceedings just along the road back to the spiritual home of Suono Sundays for the last 3 years, another of Newcastles premier boozers The Tanners Arms.
Things kick off at 7 PM and as per, keep your peepers on the 'Suono' group page on Facebook for any other breaking info.
Anyhoo, with that disaster well and truly averted we can turn our attention to a fantastic new mix from Wax:On residents and local bods 'People Get Real'.
A storming reminder of musical pedigree from the lads after not hearing them play for a while now with a mouth watering menu of dancefloor nibbles straight from the top table.
We would also recommend that you check out the PGR website here and join the PGR Facebook group here not forgetting to wrap your ears round their Soundcloud page for other PGR mixes and some brilliant free edits, remixes and original tracks from the lads.
Gwaaaan, get amongst it hew!

For those of you out there who aren't already aware of it, two of the North East's most forward thinking groups of promoters and DJ's 'Suono' and their good friends, 'Those That Know', will be holding a Gentleman's Club meeting next Saturday (24th of July) at one of Tourist's favourite watering holes and legendary Newcastle juicer 'The Tyne'.
'Those That Know' are a North East collective of musically inspired friends, brought together by a mutual appreciation of universal sounds. Diggin’ deeper into the crates, knuckles dusty and minds open, always seeking and striving to unearth past, present and future sounds to share with like minded individuals.
Between them 'Those That Know' and 'Suono' have been responsible for some of the most jaw dropping line-up's seen this side of Scots gap. Brave enough to put their necks on the line and bring heavy hitters the likes of Moodymann, Kelvin Andrews, Domu, Danielle Baldelli, Omar S, Red Rack'em, Ashley Beedle, and Rahaan to the North East proving a pedigree of huge distinction. Representing the 'Those That Know' crew will be Joe Minns and Fat Dog, while flying the flag for the men of 'Suono' (while Dano is off sunning himself in suitably Balearic surrounding's) will be Newcastle's no. 1 vest wearer, Tina Turner impersonator and philanthropist Tony Daly.
With the talent on show this should be nothing less than an unmitigated blinder, or at least triumph of irresponsible organisation! Either way, our advice is to forget the current trend for austerity and pull up a chaise lounge, toss on an ocelot stole and luxuriate with the North Easts musical finest musical oligarch's.
Hedonistic, halcyon summer days are sooooo in vouge innit!
For further details on the event, you can check the prerequisite Facebook page here!
As a taster for what to expect from this we've rolled out the whole set from the Suono 6th birthday party held at Tokyo with Dano and special guest Balearic Mike on the 1's and 2's for your listening pleasure. As you would expect from the chaps it's an absolute tour de force in how dig deep in the crates for those ever elusive rareties and seriously rock a party and yet still manage put a huge smile on your face at the same time.

Reet then, seeing as it's the Summer, my good lady wife The Leopard has as expected left me couped up in 'Tourist Towers' with the buscuit snatchers and a messy kitchen while he's off galavanting round the midlands subjecting the locals to some sonic earache with his bag of tunes. He's off to Robin Hood country this Friday to play at one of my favourite clubs 'Stealth' at the highly regarded 'Zleep' night. As well as Geoff, there's a stellar line up including Polish duo Catz n' Dogz.
The duo, Grzegorz and Wojciech to their mothers also produce under the alias '3 Channels'. The partnership first formed when they were given their own show on Poland's ABC radio. After a succession of assured releases on Crosstown Rebels and Trapez they were spotted by Dirtybird honcho Claude Vonstroke and were asked to remix his biggest hit to date; 'Who's afraid of Detroit'. No small task, but they somehow managed to stamp their own unique mark on the dance floor bomb, quickly winning an audience all over the world and thrusting them into the limelight. No slouches in the studio the duo quickly had records signed to Pokerflat, Boxer, Get Physical and as well as on their own 'Channels' label. 2008 saw the release of their debut album 'Stars of Zoo' on Mothership, to great acclaim. Since then they've been busy playing their own special selection disco + house & techno at some of the coolest parties on the planet, as well as putting the finishing touches to their second LP, which saw them collaborate with dOP, Claude VonStroke and Jazzanova’s vocalist Paul Randolph. The release date is set for September, so we expect to hear some singles drop in the not too distant future + a remix by Detroit legend Carl Craig.
All in all, it looks to be quite a do innit!
You can check out the Facebook page for the event here and you can also download the Zleep podcast mixed by Geoff Leopard here or get it from Soundcloud here. Easy innit!

Another Local Mix, and this one involves a bit of a change-up.
We're not usually prone to posting Dubstep etc on the Tourist Blog, but we'll always make an exception for the exceptional.
I'm feeling lazy today, so for further info, please read this hastily copied and pasted biog...
"Known for his taste in the more twisted and deeper side of Dubstep music, Funk Ethics has recently been gaining support right from the main players such as Skream and N Type through to forward thinking taste makers Ramadanman and Untold
His debut release "Blues is Now" alongside Reso, Rusko and Caspa on pioneering Dubstep imprint Destructive Records and his forthcoming solo releases are currently receiving wide support and airplay across scene, recently even earning radio 1 airtime.
An essential part of the strong Newcastle Dubstep scene, Funk Ethics is a talented and innovative producer, definitely a man on the rise.
Off the back of another quality 12" on bristol's Reduction Records watchout for another E.P alongside RLD on Boka Records"
