Merry Christmas: Gwar Is Over.

Merry Christmas from us at Tourist, we hope it's another good 'un for you all and in celebration of the anniversary of the day of Jesus' second marriage here's some good old rockin' Christmas tunes courtesy of DJ History head honcho Bill Brewster. The mix was originally posted out as a freebie from the DJ History shop but has been immortalised via the medium of technology by the good people at mixcloud. Big yule-log vibes in the area people innit!

Have a great Christmas & big love,
Geoff & Mark.

Matt Waites (G & S/Moscow) Mix.

Seeing as the peak of festive season is on very much on it's way we've decided that we'll be spreading the musical fare rather heavily in the run up to Crimbo this year and we're starting off with a mix from Tourist favourite Matt Waites that has been on heavy rotation round here for some time now. The mix was originally hosted on the excellent Slutty Fringe blog as promo for Matt's appearance at their 4th birthday party back in August but we thought we'd give it the second outing it deserves. Mat's productions have long since been a standard with us at Tourist from his early incarnation as Nightmoves remixing the likes of Deteatchments, Shy Child, Foals, In Flagranti, Roisin Murphy, Klaxons, Shit Disco, Friendly Fires and Late Of the Pier or putting out spacey slo-mo discoiod with Nadia Ksabia as 'G & S' for Codek and the much missed 'Dissident' imprint. Their debut single 'Show Me The Good Time' for Andy Blakes label was one of Tourists standout tracks of 2009 and was heavily played by the likes of the Disco Bloodbath crew, Erol Alkan and Optimo.
The success of his remixes and his djing has taken Matt around the UK playing at Glastonbury, Lovebox, Cocadisco, and Ministry of Sound and countless gigs around Europe, Australia, and the West Coast of America. Matt's latest project 'Moscow' see's him in a new guise which has seen a return to his love of the deeper side of house music and given him the opportunity to experiment further sonically.
Matt's last residency was as DJ and promoter at Future Flash, a monthly night at one of Londons newest clubs 'Cable' set deep in the arches of London Bridge and has seen him bringing the likes of Rub n Tug, Optimo, Mock & Toof, Maurice Fulton, Andrew Weatherall and Toby Tobias to play alongside him.
You can also heck out more of Matt's mixes, remixes and his own tracks on Soundcloud here and on his most excellent website here.

Christmas is around the corner and we're skint.

Follow the links at the top of the page, buy some stuff from Juno and help make sure that Tiny Tim's ass doesn't have to hit the bricks this year.

Worth noting is the fact that Juno is giving away a free track every day up until Christmas, which you can access via the border on the top of the blog.

We've also stuck up links to the new charts by Tourist favourites Phoreski and Max Essa.

While you're on the Juno site try and buy something expensive, like a golden record box, or some diamond slipmats.
The commision we get on those has got to be like £3 or something.
